Following the success of her previous te reo Māori singles Naaku and Waiho Mai, and the strong streaming momentum of her bilingual children’s collections Waiata Tamariki and Waiata Tamariki 2, Jaqualyn Taimana Williams today releases Waimarie Ana.
Produced by Tim Skedden and Ian Rushton, Waimarie Ana continues Jaqualyn’s mission to support learners of te reo Māori and make the language accessible to everyone through the power of music.
Translated as “stay lucky”, Waimarie Ana is a light, uplifting indie‑pop anthem that blends an old‑school pop vibe with groovy rhythms and lush three‑part harmonies. Created to help learners build a kete (basket) of useful phrases, the song repeats key expressions over infectious melodies to encourage engagement with te reo Māori.
