Lehali Releases ‘Chasing Sunsets’ Feat. Swizl Jager
Lehali’s latest track, Chasing Sunsets, is a heartfelt exploration of her experience with cultural disconnect. Sharing her experience in longing to feel comfortable and confident within herself and her identity.
“Being mixed race, a Pasifika person born and raised in Aotearoa, growing up I often felt like I didn’t belong or being told that I wasn’t ‘island enough’ to be an islander,” says Lehali. “This song is a message to my past self and others like me, reminding you that you are enough and that you are valid wherever you are on your cultural reclaiming journey.”
Chasing Sunsets fuses Island R&B, pop melodies, and summery smooth vocals with another layer of strength in Swizl Jager’s reo Māori verse. Together, the pair have created something as sonically beautiful as it is rich in experience and meaning.
