New Zealand artist Rachel Leo today releases her new single, Monroe, produced by Joel Jones (Will Swinton, Balu Brigada, Tomorrow X Together). Glossy and provocative, this anthemic pop track was written about someone being so obsessed with you that they make you feel like a celebrity, with sounds reminiscent of Adéla, Slayyyter & Tove Lo. The single is accompanied by a music video directed by Will Hunt (Swim, May-A, Master Peace).

“Monroe captures the experience of someone being so obsessed with you that they make you feel like a celebrity. I wrote this while daydreaming about the future of my career, and realising that some people already consider you a star, even in the most mundane moments.”

Monroe follows a string of strong single releases with Nightfall securing 14 editorial Spotify and Apple playlist placements (New In Pop, Pop n Fresh, NMF in 4 countries), hitting 35k Spotify streams, 115k music video views and 634 TikTok sound uses in the first week, and London reaching 300k social audio views and securing 11 editorial Spotify and Apple playlist placements (New Pop UK, Pop n’ Fresh, New Music Daily).

Outside of music, you may recognise Rachel from her work in the TV industry as an interviewer and digital producer, most notably for her coverage of the TikTok Awards, where her interviews reached 13M views, thanks to her viral chats with JoJo Siwa and Rob Irwin, as well as her interview with Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter). Content she has created for Warner Bros. Discovery and Sky has generated almost 200 million video views, while Rachel’s humour and eye for virality place her well to continue building her strong international audience.
