Rancho Mirage Unleash New Single ‘Affluenza’ on 7 November

Rancho Mirage is a sonic storm that fuses crushing riffs, atmospheric soundscapes, and powerful vocals into a sound that is both otherworldly and relentless. With a powerful blend of heavy rock and haunting melodies, the band creates an immersive world of soaring highs and deep, brooding lows.
Formed in Auckland, New Zealand, Bevan and Sam began writing together again during the lockdown to save their sanity. They quickly realised they had not lost that creative synergy. While Sam travelled NZ and Australia on some sellout tours with Alice in Chains covers band Sludge Factory, Bevan recruited Ant as their Bass player.
This brought the three ex members of Hunt The Witch back together again and Rancho Mirage was born. With the addition of the talented Julian as their drummer, the band began recording their favourite songs. Rancho Mirage is built around an unshakable sense of Bevan’s heavy sludgy guitars and Ant and Julian’s solid grooving rhythm section.
Sam’s soaring vocals complete the sound that seems to rise from somewhere beyond the earthly realm.
The first single. Affluenza came from one of Bevan’s many riffs suiting Sam’s many musings. Sam’s lyrics in Affluenza are an observation of everyday people fascinating and fawning over rich people and excess. Mimicking without thinking because it feels good.
Affluenza is due out November 7th. Catch Rancho Mirage live on 7 November at Auckland’s Ding Dong Lounge, along with Skitch Hiker.
