Wellington-based punk band Rock Resurrection, led by frontman Oliver Mackie, is set to release their emotionally charged new single, Why Do U Hate Me?, on June 6 via all major streaming platforms.
Why Do U Hate Me? is a sharp and melodic anthem that confronts feelings of rejection and misunderstanding. With gritty guitars, driving drums, and vocals that balance rawness with control, the song delivers a cathartic punch aimed at anyone who’s ever felt unfairly judged.
“It’s not just about anger,” says Mackie. “It’s about the feeling of being written off before anyone even knows who you are. This song came out of a place of frustration, but also clarity.”
