The Transits Return with New Single ‘Tongue Tied’

The Transits are the sound of collision. Punk and synths. Darkness and big pop hooks. Teenage nostalgia pulled into somewhere new.
Now they’re back with Tongue Tied, their first new music since 2025 album Bleed Hope, and the opening chapter of what the band are calling Season 3.
Releasing today, 30 October, Tongue Tied is a fast, energetic collision of pop-punk, 80’s synths and big melodies. Driving guitars, restless drums and a chorus that gets in your head quickly and refuses to leave.
“Known for their ability to craft inspiring and energetic anthems. The Transits are already a household name.” – Headbangers News
It’s brighter and more immediate than some of the darker moments on Bleed Hope, but still unmistakably The Transits.
“After Bleed Hope we didn’t really stop. We just kept writing and suddenly there was another collection of songs starting to take shape. Tongue Tied felt like the right one to come back with. It’s fast, fun, a little nostalgic. All our new music is feeling quite vibey and upbeat”. Dom Antelme, The Transits
And because it’s Halloween, there had to be a film. The band have made something of a tradition of releasing a new Halloween-inspired music video each year. For Tongue Tied, band member Dom Antelme steps behind the camera, directing a horror short set inside a creepy old manor.
Inspired by the psychological unease and visual world of The Shining, the film follows the band into a place where things become progressively stranger. Part music video, part horror film, and probably not somewhere you’d want to spend the night.
The release follows a big couple of years for the New Zealand–South African trio. Their self-titled debut arrived in 2024, with When You Went Away reaching South Africa’s Top 10 and its video winning Best New Zealand Music Video. Second album Bleed Hope followed in December 2025, pushing the band further into their collision of punk, indie, dark pop and synths.
The Dancing with Shadows music video, created by Brazilian artist Arthur Machado and produced with Paranoid Brazil, went on to win Best Music Video at several award shows including the Europe Music Awards, receive international film festival nominations and lead to the band being interviewed live on CNN Brazil.
Two albums down. The Transits are already onto whatever comes next.
They call it Season 3.
