Fresh from the sunny slopes of Taranaki and armed with an assortment of stringed instruments, questionable dance moves, and a healthy supply of dad jokes, folk trio Turkey The Bird are heading south to the annual Tussock Country Music Festival in Gore.

The band will perform at the popular MLT Round Up at the Croydon Lodge on Friday 29th May from 8pm, joining a packed line-up of artists from across New Zealand and beyond.
Known for their catchy originals, tight harmonies and relaxed stage banter, Turkey The Bird have spent the past few years touring the country in everything from theatres and folk clubs to living rooms and paddocks. Their songs blend folk, country and acoustic pop influences with stories inspired by everyday life, travel and the occasional misadventure.

“As a band, we’ve played in all sorts of places over the years, but this will be our first time at the Tussock Country Music Festival. We’re looking forward to making new friends, hearing some fantastic country music, and seeing whether a folk trio from Taranaki can blend in with the cowboys and cowgirls of Gore.”

Whether you’re a long-time fan of acoustic folk music or simply looking for an entertaining night out, Turkey The Bird promise plenty of laughs, singalongs and toe-tapping tunes.
Catch Turkey The Bird at the MLT Round Up, Croydon Lodge, Gore, Friday 29th May from 8pm as part of the Tussock Country Music Festival.
