Rock Resurrection Unleash Self-Titled Debut Album

After a long build-up, a lot of late nights, and more than a year of work, Wellington teen punk band Rock Resurrection have finally released their self-titled debut album today, April 24.
Made in a home studio and shaped completely on their own terms, Rock Resurrection feels raw, real, and straight to the point. It carries the energy of their earlier singles like Why Do U Hate Me? and Ticking Bomb, but stretches it into something bigger – a full record that shows who they are and what they’re about.
At the centre of the album is the idea of picking yourself back up when things fall apart. That theme runs through the whole project, especially on Take Me Away, a slower, more stripped-back track that leans into the more honest and vulnerable side of the band.
The lineup – Oliver Mackie (vocals), Tommy Mackie (drums), Elliott Conlon (guitar), and Isaac Baty (bass) – bring together different influences across punk and beyond, but the result doesn’t feel forced or overthought. It just sounds like them.
It’s not perfect, it’s not polished to death – and that’s kind of the point. It’s energetic, emotional, and genuine.
After all the waiting, Rock Resurrection is finally out.
