Alayna Takes Intimate & Immersive ‘Set Her Free’ Tour on the Road
Silver Scroll-nominee alayna has announced a three-date New Zealand tour to celebrate Set Her Free – her critically acclaimed album, released earlier this year.

The Set Her Free show is an intimate and immersive experience, in which the talented singer and songwriter brings her album to life across a free gallery exhibition of her themed visual works and a ticketed performance, featuring songs from the album, including the Silver Scroll Top 20 nominated ‘But It’s Lonely’ and new single ‘I See You’.
To mark the album’s release in February, alayna created 13 original artworks, each inspired by a track from the record, which were presented as part of an art exhibition in Auckland that welcomed more than 120 visitors across opening weekend. The exhibition now accompanies the tour as part of the live experience.
Written across Aotearoa, Australia, USA and Bali, Set Her Free is an album that explores love in its many forms. The beautifully crafted collection of 13 tracks immerses its listener in an ocean of emotive pop, soul and R&B.
Alayna will begin the Set Her Free experience with her first-ever headline show in Wellington at Whisky & Wood on Sunday, August 9 opening the tour with a stripped-back, intimate performance centred on storytelling and connection, inviting audiences into the emotional world of the album.
The exhibition will be held at Blue Door Studios and will run from August 5-9. alayna will also host a workshop and Q&A the night before the show – on Saturday, August 8. Click HERE for tickets to the show and more information on alayna’s first-time performance in Wellington.
The tour then travels north to alayna’s hometown of Rotorua, presenting an expansive live performance at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre on Saturday, August 15, bringing new depth and dimension to the album. The Set Her Free tour is supported by NZ on Air’s Touring Fund and alayna is thrilled to be taking the performance and exhibition on the road. She’s especially excited to be doing her first headline show in Wellington.

“The exhibition I created to introduce the album in February felt so special that I wanted to bring that experience with me, giving more people the opportunity to step into its world.
“We’ve created three unique shows, each shaped around a beautiful space. They’re all different ways to experience the music – up close and personal, raw and expansive – and every audience will encounter the album and its stories in a different way.
“I haven’t toured since 2023, and I love this record so deeply for what it taught me and the conversations it’s opened. I’m really excited to be working with incredible venues and art galleries, allowing the tour to feel more like a travelling creative residency than a traditional tour. Getting to spend August living inside this work and sharing it with audiences across Aotearoa feels like the most meaningful way to celebrate this album.”
