The Nomad Announces ‘ReGenerate’ Album Release Date

Aotearoa electronic music pioneer The Nomad (Daimon Schwalger) is manawa reka/chuffed to announce that the release date of his 30-year anniversary album ReGenerate will be Friday September 18th.

Rather than releasing the complete album digitally, The Nomad has chosen to make the physical editions the definitive listening experience, encouraging audiences to engage with the 16-track album as a complete body of work, while still offering a taste of the project to listeners discovering his music online.

On September 18th, ReGenerate will be available as a limited first run of just 300 double vinyl copies, each beautifully pressed on metallic red vinyl. The full album will also be released on CD and cassette, also in limited numbers, with only a handful of selected tracks to be made available digitally.

ReGenerate marks three decades of Schwalger’s musical work. Beginning in 1996 with Locuste and evolving into The Nomad in 1998, the ReGenerate album revisits unreleased ideas, reshapes past favourites, and introduces new material that bridges three decades while staying firmly rooted in bass, dub, reggae, and dancefloor culture. It’s a forward-looking retrospective that celebrates longevity, experimentation, and the constant regeneration of sound.

The album is accompanied by stunning artwork from Francis Cheetham, whose distinctive visual style has become a familiar part of The Nomad’s creative world. His artwork perfectly complements the spirit of ReGenerate, capturing the album’s themes of evolution, reflection, and renewal.

With new music, live performances, collaborations, and creative projects currently underway from his new base in Nelson, The Nomad enters the next chapter of his career with no signs of slowing down.
