Emily Alice release their new track, ‘Player 2’

Emily Alice hails from Ōtepoti (Dunedin), New Zealand. Drawing from soul, jazz, RnB and pop fusion, they provide an audio-charcuterie board like no other. Emily Alice’s unique sound is well-rounded and polished, and has earned them a top spot amongst live bands in Dunedin.
Having played alongside Muroki (NZ), No Cigar (NZ), and joining Bootleg Rascal (AUS) for a section of their New Zealand tour – Emily Alice are gaining local and international recognition for their divine control over their craft. Most recently they are set to play alongside Ladi6 (NZ), Paige (NZ) and Georgia Lines (NZ) as part of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Fan Festival in Dunedin.
Player 2 is a groovy and soulful track that comments on the feeling of self-empowerment in a situation where someone is trying to get the best of you. The climax of the piece hits in the last chorus, with syncopated tight instrumentation complimenting the dynamic, lush vocals. Player 2 expands on the sound and style of Emily Alice’s previous single, Fool’s Game, which received local and national acclaim. Fool’s Game spent 12 weeks on the Radio One 91FM Top 11 Countdown, and placed on the Student Radio Network (SRN) Top 10 Countdown.
Player 2 was recorded at the University of Otago’s Te Korokoro O Te Tūī Studio. Engineered by Mike Holland & Toby Roseman, mixed by David Craig and mastered by Benny Tones (Organik Muzik Workz)
